(Ps.78:3~4)

Prayer....in your WORK Life ?

PRAYER works... Prayer IS work.... Prayer leads to WORK...
It is not preparation for the battle, it IS the battle...
Prayer is 2-fold: 1.Definite asking; 2. Definite waiting to Receive!

Prayer is NOT a five-minute exercise in the morning devotion time....?

It is a vital strategic tool to Discern & Know God's Will & Purposes in your work life.....

Your business lives...... are your ministry to God and others!
There is a small remnant of workplace believers who know that Skill & Technique are NOT enough to fulfill God's purposes:
-Men and women have entered into covenant relationships with intercessory prayer partners who help them discerning the activities they should be involved in.
-Some even have paid staff, who intercede for the decisions and activities in which they will be involved.

A servant of the Lord has well said:
Prayer is the rail for God's work.
Indeed, prayer is to God's will as rails are to a train.
The locomotive is full of power: it is capable of running a thousand miles a day.
But if there are no rails, it cannot move forward a single inch.
If it dares to move without them, it will soon sink into the earth.
It may be able to travel over great distances, yet it cannot go to any place where no rails have been laid.
And such is the relation between prayer and God's work....

Without any doubt God is almighty and He works mightily, but He will not and cannot work if you and I do not labor together with Him in prayer; -prepare the way for His Will, and pray "with all prayer and supplication" (Eph. 6:18) to grant Him the maneuverability to so work...
Many are the things, which God wills to do, and would like to do, but His hands are bound because His children do not sympathize with Him and have not prayed so as to prepare ways for Him.

To all who have wholly given themselves to God:
* Is prayer a vital part of your strategic business practices?

* Do examine yourselves and see if in this respect you have limited Him day after day....?

* Put prayer on the 'front lines', instead of making it an afterthought....

....You will begin to see a renewed Power in your work life!

Shalom.....& Maranatha

....Genoeg is Genoeg..... !

Wanneer is 'Genoeg .....-Genoeg'!

Omgekeerde diskriminisasie............! Inverse Discrimination ....! Reasons ?

Why reverse opression CAN never have a win-win ending...!

Ek is 'n aktiewe PlaasBoer wat aldag leef te midde van dreigende plaasaanvalle & die werklikheid van toename in misdaad,  daagliks waarneembaar ook in ons gemeenskap !

Enkele 'pitkos'- opmerkings....."to ponder on" oor hoekom ek so sterk voel jeens omgekeerde diskrininasie, waarvan onbillike regstellende aksie maar een aspek van is.....

* 'Peace' is purchased from  a position of strength!
It is NOT purchased from weakness &/or unilateral retreats !
That is WHY I/we must continue perusing this & other matters....

*  I don't thrive on offensive acts.... (it is not part of my historic or present culture!)
I will therefore act defensively because I/we have to, & subsequently Thank God when we are efficient in forfilling the mandate as from the Bible...

* If the politically instigated criminals were to lay down their guns tomorrow, -there would be NO MORE farm attacks.....
If us as farmers were to lay down 'everything' & being 'run over' there would be NO MORE farmers & NO MORE food (as in Zimbabwe)!

* I don't rejoice in victories of one over another....
I/We rejoice when a new kind of crop is grown or herd of cattle is developed & when people are appreciative of our efforts in the middle of nowhere in the 'platteland' to keep segments of the country fed !

* Inverse &/or reverse  discrimination bmo Affirmative action against whites & 'Afrikaans' is illegal & unconstitutional.
Being 'white' is what we are born; we can not change it (biologicaly) & will forever be Afrikaans-speaking in land of ALSO our forefathers!

* As a farmer we/I've got a love for the soil /land/ farming & we will make it happen, in spite of circumstances...... it is no idealogical dream, lie or fallacy !

* Our 'enemies' sanctify illegal activities of destruction, arson, theft & looting, wanting hand-outs for free; we sanctify life through building-up 'something' from nothing, leaving a legacy through disciplined hard work, thinking long-term !
Idiological tainted fanatics & politicians ask us to 'commit suicide', -even if they have 'good' intentions; we will tell them NO!

* In the SA of today , to be a realist as a white (Afrikaans) farmer, that is able to survive the onslaught of the majority of the numbers, you must be able to 'recklessly' believe in the reality of daily 'unheard-of' miracles ......!

* SA must be the only country in the world where, -on the morrow, the white nation handed to the 'majority in numbers' their self-relinquesed power on a platter; are now being sued for equality by means of non- affirmative action & the beneficiaries asked for unconditional surrender of culture, language & private property without compensation....!

* We are a cultural nation that loves peace & fairness in ALL aspects....
We will never stop growing &/or developing, -but we know instinctively how to effectively protect ourselves, without any waiver, against illegal action, -ONLY if need to be !

* The criminals  must know that we as the newly inverse discriminated minority have a right to self-defense, -just like any other people!
The motivation is very simple... To defend inter alia aspects that are vital to segments of the Boere Afrikaner culture & nation; (of which whites & Afrikaans speaking people are part of); & this effort is part of reserving the right to defend ourselves & those things that are precious to us & to me.....

Fluit-Fluit my storie is uit .....

Some 'memoirs' on Lessons learnt from 'Business & Finance'.......

* You might think you want an expensive car, a fancy watch, and a huge house......
But I'm telling you, you don't!
What you want is respect and admiration from other people, and you think having expensive stuff will bring it.....!
It almost never does -- especially from the people you want to respect and admire you.
When you see someone driving a nice car, you probably don't think:
"Wow, that person is cool."
Instead, you think:
"Wow, if I had that car people would think I'm cool."
Do you see the irony?
No one cares about the 'actual person' in the car......
Have fun; buy some nice stuff..... (if you can afford it...)
But realize that what people are really after is respect, and humility will ultimately gain you more of it than vanity............

* It's normal to assume that all financial success and failure is earned......
It mostly is, but only up to a point -- and a lower point than many think!
People's lives are a reflection of the experiences they've had and the people they've met, a lot of which are driven by luck, accident, and chance....
Some people are born into families that encourage education; others are against it.
Some are born into flourishing economies encouraging of entrepreneurship; others are born into war and destitution.
If you want to be successful,  -you must earn it!
But realize that not all success is due to hard work, and not all poverty is due to laziness.....
Keep this in mind when judging people, including yourself.

* This may sound harsh, but I hope you're poor at some point.
Not struggling, and not unhappy, of course.....
But there's no way to learn the value of money without feeling the power of its scarcity.
It teaches you the difference between necessary and desirable.
It'll force you eventually to budget.
It'll make you learn to enjoy what you have, fix what's broken, and shop for a bargain.
These are essential survival skills.
Learn to be poor with dignity and you'll handle the inevitable ups and downs of financial life with ease........

* If you're like most people, you'll spend most of your adult life thinking.....
"Once I've saved/earned X-amount of money, -everything will be great."
Then you'll hit X-amount of money, move the goalpost down the field, and resume chasing your tail. It's a miserable cycle to be in......
Save your money and strive to get ahead.
But realize your ability to adjust to new circumstances is more powerful than you think, and your goals should be about more than money....!

* Don't stay in a job you hate because you unwittingly made a career choice when you were 18 years old.........
I shake my head at university/college 'freshmen' choosing a 'lifelong career's ' major to guide their lifelong careers.
Almost no one knows what they want to do at that age......
Many don't know what they want to do until they're twice that age.

* Change your mind when you need to
I've noticed a tendency for people to think they've mastered Business when they're young.....
They start investing at age 18, and think they have it all figured out by age 19.....!
They never do.
Confidence rises faster than ability, especially in young men.
Learn the skill of changing your mind, discarding old beliefs and replacing them with new truths.
It's hard, but necessary.....
Don't feel bad about it.
The ability to change your mind when you're wrong is a sign of intelligence.
(This of course excludes promises made,..... -that can NOT be broken; never!)

* The best thing money buys is control over your time
It gives you options and frees you from relying on someone else's priorities.
One day you'll realize this freedom is one of the things that makes you truly happy........

* The road to financial regret is paved with debt.
Also, commissioned salesmen......
But mostly debt. It's amazing what percentage of financial problems are caused by borrowing.
Debt is a claim on your future, which you'll always miss, in order to gain something today, which you'll quickly get used to.
You'll likely use some debt, like a mortgage.
That's OK....... But be careful.
Most debt is the equivalent of a drug: A quick (and expensive) hit of pleasure that wears off, only to drag you down for years to come, limiting your options while weighed down by the baggage of your past......

* Your savings rate has a little to do with how much you earn, and a lot to do with how much you spend.
I know a dentist who lives paycheck to paycheck, always on the sliver's edge of financial ruin.
I know another who never earned more than 'meager wage', compared to his colleague but saved a fortune.
The difference is entirely due to their spending.
How much you make doesn't determine how much you have.
And how much you have doesn't determine how much you need.
Don't become a money hoarder or a miser......
But realize that learning to live with less is the easiest and most efficient way to gain control of your financial future.

* Don't listen to me if you disagree with what I've written.
Everyone's different.
The world you grow up in will have different values and opportunities than the one I did.
More importantly, you'll learn best when you disagree with someone and then are forced to learn it yourself.
(On the other hand, always listen to your mother........)

Passion.........

Why do some 'specific-type of idiosyncratic people' -'Excel' (most of the times), at what they put their heart, to do....-but nevertheless being rejected, -later, by society's so called 'normal fraternity' ?!

You can be aware that 'something' about such a person is idiosyncratic, and categorize him accordingly as such a 'Character'....unaware of the 'golden hidden attributes' that supersedes the idiosyncrasies...of the 'natural' / inclined "Special Operator"...! (HJ'17)

The reality is that such 'peculiar people' spend most of their time .....learning, planning, innovating, and training

I have realized that they spend a large amount of their time either : Learning, or Solving Problems in ambiguous non-combat situations with.... little or no direction, no funds, and no prior experience as transitioning operators....& get nevertheless the 'job' done!
.....And they succeed.
.....Spectacularly.
.....Overwhelmingly.

* Failure is not an option. Ever. Ever…...
Stories about how they succeeded where the rest of us would have failed.
There are a multitude of stories about this....
In civilian life, -it is solving business problems.

* Ability to create solutions with no guidance or budget
I have heard multiple stories from many of these special forces operators where they simply said “OK, we will do it,” under any circumstances - and they just did it.
When failure isn't an option, you make it work....!

* Ability to handle ambiguity and deal with the unknown
A common theme that runs through these guys is that they are not afraid of the unknown.....
From training through their career they were placed into ambiguous situations almost every day.
Every one of them has the attitude that the 'unknown': is very simply 'the not-yet known'....!

* The insatiable desire (and uncanny ability) to learn
One of the biggest misconceptions, is that these guys are mostly just “meatheads.”
In truth, they are all extraordinarily intelligent.....
Very, very, very smart. I am not kidding. Very smart....

e.g. One of them taught himself about algorithm development because he wanted to show a startup technology company’s CTO a better way to do things!

Another operator learned dozens of technologies – from the manuals, mind you – to improve on some of the communications devices they were given using items found in an undeveloped country....

Then there was the guy who learned a foreign language well enough in a few months to get away with passing as a native....
(By the way, how many languages do you speak? Some of these guys speak 5….)

One of them told me flat out, “I want to know everything about everything.
I don’t understand why other people don’t find everything as interesting as I do!”

One is a recognized concert pianist.

They have the capacity to learn an amazing amount – quickly and thoroughly.
I am humbled whenever I make contact & speak with most of them......

* Ability to analyze
Special Operators have an uncanny ability to quickly analyze situations and come up with an optimized solution.

This can range from knowing what someone is going to do before they do it, to where someone will be and what they are thinking...

It also includes deep knowledge about people’s motivations and behaviors.
This ability is not limited to behavior, however, it also includes the ability to quickly determine the best solution to technical, logistical, business, and interpersonal dilemmas, defining an optimized solution, and quickly implementing it.

They are very good at gathering and presenting metrics, at convincing stakeholders about the right course of action.

It is what they have been doing - with tremendous outcomes at stake.

* Patience and stability
These Operators uncannily focus on “the win,” and stay focused on it - even when it requires nearly super-human patience....
Some of the things they have achieved required them to be patient beyond reasonableness, yet stay absolutely focused the entire time and seize opportunities right when they arose.
This also requires them to be extremely stable – they exude a calm confidence that inspires a belief that everything is going to work out just fine.....

Only when someone meets and interviews most of these operators in depth, -do their characteristics for success shine through.
You don’t hire resumes, you hire people.
Meet them....
Talk to them....
Get to know them...-the real person, behind the facade they may project, the real man behind the 'face'

Most of them are among some of the most screened and highly trained people in the world.
They have had to take and pass psychological, physical, emotional, intelligence, aptitude, drug, criminal, and ethical screens and tests constantly -- for their entire career.
They are the only ones who remained standing after undergoing all of these rigorous tests in a competitive environment.
They are the best of the best, and the powers that may be wouldn't have invested millions in each of them, to train them, if they weren’t the best.

Some time ago, I have made contact with some of these special forces operators....
If I had open positions, I honestly would have hired any of them.
I would bet my career on the success of all of them – if they are given a chance....
If you want to hire a drone who can only perform when they are told exactly how and what to do, and who only know how to commit war, don’t hire an operator.
If you want to hire a success-focused, creative, persistent, adaptable, intuitive, winner, who will succeed no matter what, with or without budget, with or without direction, under any circumstance - hire an operator.
If you need a lieutenant to whom you can offload a large quantity of tasks: e.g. a Chief of Staff, an effective Sales or Business Development Manager, Designer, Innovator, Problem solver, Learner, or Doer, ....hire an operator.

Once again, these people can only get hired if people are willing to interview them – if people can look past the operators’ main mission tasks to the underlying qualities, personalities, and characteristics that make them so successful....
Most of the preconceived notions we have about who these people truly are can be summed up in one word: Incorrect.

If you can hire someone, however, talk to a special operator.
Look past the resume to the personal qualities – to the capabilities and success characteristics.
Take a chance.....  and arrange to speak to one of these professionals.
If you give it a try.... they will win you over – just like they have been winning, out in the field, for years and years....
I guarantee it.

I Salute you......

Shalom ... & Maranatha

Being Efficiently-Effective Excellent.....

For most of my adult life, I've accepted the incredibly durable myth that some people are born with special talents and gifts, and that the potential to truly excel in any given pursuit is largely determined by our genetic inheritance.......

During former years, I've read documents, which lays out several guidelines, grounded in the science of high performance, to systematically building your capacity physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

It has been found, in working with executives at dozens of organizations, that it's possible to build any given skill or capacity in the same systematic way we do a muscle: push past your comfort zone, and then rest..........
Aristotle had it exactly right 2000 years ago: "We are what we repeatedly do."
By relying on highly specific practices, it has been noted how people dramatically improve skills ranging from empathy, to focus, to creativity, to summoning positive emotions, to deeply relaxing.

Like everyone who studies performance, I'm indebted to the extraordinary Anders Ericsson, arguably the world's leading researcher into high performance.
For more than two decades, Ericsson has been making the case that it's not inherited talent which determines how good we become at something, but rather how hard we're willing to work — something he calls "deliberate practice."
Numerous researchers now agree that 10,000 hours of such practice as the minimum necessary to achieve expertise in any complex domain.....
There is something wonderfully empowering about this......
It suggests we have remarkable capacity to influence our own outcomes.
But that's also daunting.
One of Ericsson's central findings is that practice is not only the most important ingredient in achieving excellence, but also the most difficult and the least intrinsically enjoyable.
If by any chance, -you can can pursue (as a bonus) that what you love, -you just might have "arrived"...!
Having "Real Passion" for something/someone is an incredible motivator.
It fuels focus, resilience, .........& perseverance.

If you want to be really good at something, -it's going to involve relentlessly pushing past your comfort zone, along with frustration, struggle, setbacks and failures.
That's true as long as you want to continue to improve, or even maintain a high level of excellence.
The reward is that being really good at something you've earned through your own hard work can be immensely satisfying.

"White South African people stole from Blacks"... !

The real truth about the ‘PREVIOUSLY DISADVANTAGED’

The fact is : " Nobody owes blacks anything....!"

In explaining the above, (in short) I would like to make special reference to following:

1. Who "disadvantaged" the black people of the interior Southern Africa, before the (supposed) ‘belligerent’ white settlers moved inland in the mid-19th century?

What the settlers found was not hugely advanced infrastructures -- deep mines, hospitals, vast libraries of written knowledge, imposing institutions of learning, etc.
No, as little as 170 years ago they found masses of black people (indigenous to the Southern tip of Africa) living on the fringes of the Stone Age.
Primitive beings dressed in skins, wielding sticks, living in primitive dwellings, dragging- and carrying their meager possessions around, since they had not been introduced to the benefits of the wheel yet!

2. Ethiopia - a country that was NEVER colonised is today one of the most desolate places on the planet!
Who "disadvantaged" the people of Ethiopia?

3. Compare Zimbabwe and Germany with each other and please explain the differences.
In 1945 Germany was, for all intents and purposes, flattened to ground and torn in half. Fifteen years later, West Germany was described as an "Economic Wonder".
Around the same time as the end of apartheid, Germany was re-unified.
It yanked the now-unified Germany back four centuries in time.
Yet, in about fifteen years (for the second time within a few decades) it built another 'economic wonder'.
Today it is fast becoming a global leader in almost every field..............!

On the the flip side – Zimbabwe’s people were handed one of the wealthiest countries in the WORLD (for eg: a currency that was stronger than the US dollar!).
What is the situation today?
(I am living at present 15km south of the Zim border, I should know, - seeing them flocking without restraint in their hordes 24/7/365 across the 'Mighty Limpopo' to Canaan!  )
Zim are competing at present with Ethiopia as the most desolate hellhole on the planet?
Please explain...

I can carry on with examples for days -- but let that be enough for now.

Just one more request: Please, kindly respect the intellect of our audience and refrain from cheap (ANC-like) red herrings for eg. calling people racists.
Just answer the posed questions directly and with tangible substance...!
In parting, I would suggest the following:
The term "Previously Disadvantaged' is as much a fantasy as is the delusional lunacy that
threatens voters with the revenge of the ancestors.
The same delusional insanity that claims the words "KILL THE BOER" really, apparently only means, "Come over to my mansion for tea and cookies........!"

You cannot take something from somebody WHO NEVER HAD IT in the first place!

In fact, what is it that white people, specifically white men, are supposed to "give back" to black people?
Can someone PLEASE explain to me what it is that white men took from blacks?

LAND?
Blacks NEVER owned any land.
Any form of formal ownership is a Western concept.
The black tribes of the mid-19th century haphazardly SETTLED in an ad hoc manner -- effectively governed by tribal savagery – in other words, the most savage ruled the land (a bit like Hillbrow today).
They simply ran away until they could not run any more -- not having ANY grasp of the concept of a horizon or for that matter any measure of finite land mass – for eg. the boundaries -- that is the fundamental concept of ownership.

MINERALS?
More hallucinations aside -- eg ancient gold mines – a little bit like the Zimbabwe Ruins (the Pyramids, etc) -- next to the magnificent structure, the indigenous people built stone-age dwellings out of dirt and sticks (at best emulating the birds).
' Minerals-beneficiation' is an entirely Imperialist/Western concept -- in fact, in many ways it saw some of the most tangible advances, by WHITE SOUTH AFRICAN MEN -- just peruse some of the academic papers at Wits' Engineering Library.

WEALTH?
Money, capital and the pivotal mechanisms of the wealth that allows you to breathe, eat, have children, live a rather healthy productive and fulfilling life, but also allowed the cognitive development that leads you to make  daft comments, -- it is ALL of Western origins.
In fact, the key advancements in modern finance and economics were made by the DUTCH. Why do you think New York’s financial center is called 'Wall Street'?
It was initially called 'Waal Straat', when the settlement was under Dutch control...
Yes, my dear, the Dutch took their cognitive substance there as well!
The same Dutch that were the most direct descendants of the people who landed at the Cape in 1652.
In fact, the modern 'WEALTH system' was originated by the Dutch and it funded the explorations around the tip of Africa.

Perhaps we robbed the ‘ disadvantaged’ blacks of their private jets, their Breitling watches, their Italian designer suits, or their German luxury limousines, their Blue Light Brigades or perhaps their space shuttles?

Mmmm... I just de-test the implicit assumption & 'passing comments' from some 'so-called leaders' , that 'whites stole from blacks'!

The Awesomeness............of God?

When was the last time you took a glance from the top of a mountain or  even an outcrop higher than the rest of the surrounding 'veld'/ land ?
You don't glance at pictures of a huge mountain & say,
"Hmm, nice hill. Maybe a little taller than some mountains."

You don't witness the wonders of Nature and say, "Oh, yeah, that's a pretty sight."

I stand in silent awe.......

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and Your glory above all the earth.  Psalm 108:5

Due to circumstances at work, I had acquired recently a scrambler motorcycle, that enable me to do work in the roughness of nature on the border between South Africa & Zimbabwe...
When you travel by motorcycle, nature is closer at hand; you are part of it; The wind; smells & odour's embedded in the wind;  warmth / cold of the wind; sights from/within nature.

Who made these 'Wonders of Nature' ?
God!

The rest of His creation is equally awesome.
Consider the stars in space, for example.
Though we were to study for a lifetime, we still could not fathom them.

When God does it, it makes us stand back in respect......!

It puts all self-centered human achievements of those that think they are god-like themselves,  -on the lowest level.....

Diligence........ Hardwerkendheid/Pligsgetrouheid.....

He who labours diligently need never despair.......,
- for ALL things are accomplished by diligence and labour......!

The plans of the diligent lead to profit. -Proverbs 21:5

Scripture tells us to rely on God and wait for/upon Him.

It tells us that He has blessings for us that we can't earn and that He loves to give gifts to His children.

But there's another principle in the Bible that we shouldn't ignore: the principle of hard work.
The book of Proverbs instructs us to look to the ant, who has no "overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest" (6:7-8).
If we want a bright future—if we want to enjoy benefits in the short-term as well as the long-term—we have to put our nose to the grindstone and do work....that produce some Results!

So while it's important to wait on God and look SOLELY to Him for provision, perhaps one of the best things to do while we're waiting is work hard...!

I Thank God  for the multitude of Daily Blessings in my life.
But I do need to also pray, -DAILY,
......... for a Spirit of diligence and commitment to attend to the tasks as it is 'put' in front of me....

Time is .........Precious !

Terrific Truths about time:

* Nobody can manage time.
But you can manage those things that take up your time.

* Time is expensive.
As a matter of fact, 80% of our day is spent on those things or those people that only bring us 2% of our results.

* Time is perishable.
It can NOT be saved for later use.

* Time is measurable.
Everybody has the same amount of time...pauper or king.
It is not how much time you have; it is how much you use.

* Time is irreplaceable.
We never make back time once it is gone.

*: Time is a priority.
You have enough time for anything in the world, so long as it ranks high enough among your priorities.

Secret ?.....to Success (Not really), ....& it's NOT 'Money' !

I'm utterly convinced that the key to lifelong success is .........
The regular exercise of a single emotional muscle:
Gratitude !

People who approach life with a sense of gratitude are constantly aware of what's wonderful in their life.
Gratitude is singularly the main path to success!
Acknowledgement of each builds promise to greater and ongoing success!
Because they enjoy the fruits of their successes, they seek out more success.

By contrast, people who lack gratitude are never 'truly' happy.
If they succeed at a task, they don't enjoy it.
For them, a string of successes is like trying to fill a bucket with a huge leak in the bottom.
Failure invariably makes them bitter, angry, and discouraged.... !
Therefore, if you want to be successful, you need to (NOT feel), but 'experience' more in 'offering' gratitude.
Fortunately, gratitude, like most emotions, is like a muscle:
The more you use it, the stronger and more resilient it becomes......
Whenever, I find that I need some balance, i remind myself to look for the things to be grateful for, and the abundance of life! Breathe deep and say : "Thank You ...Lord!"
When things don't 'always' go as planned, people who are grateful can put failure into perspective, because they recognize  in 'humbleness' their 'role' as small cog in the bigger picture......

I found to have given thanks for all the ways I've been able to succeed in 'Life' despite many obstacles and gone on to accomplish much in spite of many set backs.......
I came to look at the big picture, and realized that this is yet just another bump in the road, and the people on my team, my family (?), my friends, have proven to be some of the great Blessings in my life.
This has brought me peace and enabled me to deal with the situation in a much calmer, productive manner.

The best time to exercise gratitude is just .......before bed.
Record (make an quick inventory of 'value added'), to the events of the day that have created positive emotions, either in you or in those around you.
[While at it...... (just before bed), What about your 'spouse' (if you should have one); appreciation in the truest sense of the word, (about 'everything' they did / not do / 'being-as-mensch',  -I believe have got 'long lasting undiscovered treasures' !]
Did you help somebody solve a problem?.....
Write it down.......
Did you connect with a colleague or friend?
Write it down.
Did you make somebody smile
Write it down.
What you're doing is "programming your brain" to view your day more positively.
You're throwing mental focus on what worked well, and shrugging off what didn't.
As a result, you'll sleep better, and you'll wake up more refreshed.

More important, you're also awakening an inner 'awareness' to notice even more reasons to feel gratitude.
You'll quickly discover that even a "bad day" is full of moments that are worthy of Gratitude... Success becomes sweeter; failure, less sour.......

Having a positive attidude everyday even though for some its hard, with practice, it will work
The more regularly you practice this exercise, the stronger its effects.
Over time, your "gratitude muscle" will become so strong that you'll attract more success into your life, not to mention greater numbers of successful (i.e., other Grateful) people.
You'll also find yourself thanking people more often...... (especially your spouse & children, individually)
That's good for you and for them, too............
This method works.
If you don't believe me, ........ONLY try it for at least a week.
You'll be amazed at what a huge difference it makes !

Shalom .... &  Maranatha !

Failure...... in more than one way.?

Growing up, each one of us has a role model; someone who we strive to be
and model our life or career after.......

Someone who is THE ideal for whatever role we see ourselves in.
In business it might have been Steve Jobs; in Real Estate it might be Donald Trump; it changes for every industry, but at some point in our lives, each and every one of us will utter the phrase (publicly or privately)
“I want to be the next _______.”

Think about who your heroes are.

Who do you want to emulate?

What is your perceived ideal?

While we might try as hard as we possibly can to become what or who we have concluded is THE ideal, it’s important to remember that we’re ONLY human.
NO specific job or career goal should define us....!
Life isn’t always fair & we’ll inevitably fail at one point or another.......

It is THROUGH this failure that we recover, adapt, and ultimately grow into our own unique version of the person we want to be – maybe even raising the bar for generations to come.

Think about the times in your life when you’ve failed........

There’s probably nothing worse than the sting of failure, especially when you’ve
worked hard or gave everything you had in loyalty, towards a relationship..... !
But there’s always a lesson to be learned....
Sometimes it’s a life lesson, and sometimes failure is what pushes you to learn a new skill or embrace a new idea.
No matter what type of lesson your failure pushes you to learn, it’s an opportunity for growth, self-improvement, and success...... only possible through a 'paradigm-shift' ...sometimes !

Be NOT afraid to fail, because whether you fear failure or not, you will still be
'disappointed' .....
But it’s through that disappointment that your unique life starts to take shape.
That failure can become a catalyst for profound reinvention & is what will help shape your dreams and ultimate success.
"...when we are weak,Him in us...are making us Strong, if relying TOTALLY on Him .."

What are your dreams TODAY?

Are they the same dreams you had at age 12? 22? Yesterday?

I know my dreams have changed over the years, and I’m sure they’ll continue to
change.
... & that’s okay.
You’re not the same person you were 20 years ago, or ten years ago, or yesterday, and there’s no rule that says your dreams have to stay the same.
Your dreams and goals should nevertheless grow with you.

As you achieve your goals, you realize new ones – things you didn’t know you wanted before, but are now clearer than ever.
Embrace your evolving dreams, your past and future successes, and especially your failures; because without them you would not be in the unique position to redefine the ideal.

I hope it helped you put the fear of failure into perspective of  it is possible to overcome failure to achieve great success.

No matter what you dream is today or what it evolves into tomorrow........,
“Work hard, be kind, and amazing things will happen.”

...But, ONLY with the Help & Grace of an UNCONDITIONAL Loving God, Jesus Christ !

Shalom ... Maranatha

Capitalism......Socialism......Communism ?

"When the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great,
but when government takes all the reward away,
.....no one will try or want to succeed!"

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that socialism supposedly worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Socialist's plan".
All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D!
No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Following YOUR Heart....!

Some 'Thoughts' on the aspect of : "Following your Heart"...
* Work is a great deal of one's Life.
The only way to be Truly Satisfied is to do what 'you' believe to be ' Great Work'
Great work can only be done, if you Love that 'what' you are doing...
Keep Looking......until you've found it.

* To connect the 'dots' looking forward is an impossible job.
Looking backwards making it easier to connect the dots & then extrapolate them, as far as it seems to be logical.
(That doesn't mean you will look 'too much' back in the past....
...there may be quite a number of failed past attempts, -that are NOT that encouraging, taking their success, as a 'valid' prediction of future 'outcomes'...)
You have to be willing to 'somehow' whatever you've Done & whatever you Were, ....& throw that 'open-handed' away, -without longing  back, but 'Being' rather actively focussed on the ' Now' of the Present !
Go-on, Invent a 'new tomorrow', without worrying what happened yesterday!
You have to Trust & Believe that the dots will somehow connect in the future.....
Believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to 'follow you heart', even if that will lead you off the 'beaten well-trodden track'
This 'road' off the highway, you've decided to take,  ( thinking 'outside of the box'), might just make all the difference !

* Creativity & Innovation you've applied in creating things, is not that difficult.
For the Visionary Entrepreneur it is a 'natural' connecting of things with ideas; like connecting the dots; it's obvious, -for them....
When you asked them: "How did you do it?",
They feel somewhat embarrassed, -because they did not really do it, -they just 'saw' some possibilities & made it Reality.

* It is having an 'Insight' in things around us & pragmatic applying that insight in ways nobody has done before & expressing it in a simplistic manner that are unthinkable to those that haven't got that ' Insight'......

* Simple can be harder than complex.
You have to work hard to get your thinking 'clean' to be able to make it 'Simple'
But, it is worth in the long run; once you get there, there are clear parameters with 'little' uncertainties.
It means 'the sky is the limit', if there is a need / application of the principle.

* It may be somewhat 'difficult' to successfully differentiate among the multitude of things/ (Ideas), without getting stuck, & to really eventually focus on ' One'
But that may be also somewhat an 'Art'....
The cultivated ability to say 'no' to all of the hundreds of other 'distractions' that try to infiltrate your mind to be #1, & choose 'The One'...... that will 'clinch' the deal

* If I tried my best and fail for the 'n-th time' , ...then I have tried my best, with what I've got at this point in time.
Perhaps I may try tomorrow my 'best' again, with a new slant or a new approach to that, which I still Believe in, today.....
Failure of what I have tried, doesn't seal my fate.
I just confirm, I am 'not there......Yet!'
Pure 'adrenalin'-perseverance DO make a difference...

* Time for each of us is limited, -so don't live someone else's Life.
Being trapped by dogma of the results of others' thinking, is to be NOT Authentic to yourself !
It is quite easy to allow the 'noise' of others' opinions & thinking, to drown out your own inner voice.
Be Authentic in allowing yourself the permission to follow your heart & your own unique Intuition.
.....It's ALL you've got.
Being 'truly YOU'!
Being able to go to bed at night & with reminiscent thinking, know you've been involved in something 'bigger than yourself'; something of more value & importance than only to be the 'historic richest man in the cemetery'....
To 'know-in-your-knower', YOU are making a difference...

* Quality is 'always' (OK, most of the times, without exception), -better than Quantity.
It just works that way.
Getting more, with Less.

Responsibility / Accountability ......... "Verantwoordelikheid / Verantwoordbaarheid"

We always have the power to choose how we interpret a given situation and the mindset we adopt in response.....

Responsibility is not the same as accountability.
Responsibility is probably a good thing for companies and their cultures, but accountability is actually somewhat more problematic.
Accountability is, of course, an idea very much in vogue these days.
People in companies and even schoolchildren are supposed to be held accountable for their decisions and actions—what they do has consequences, and they must feel those consequences, be they positive or negative.
There is a lot of evidence, however, that the growing emphasis on individual accountability—something, by the way, that is completely inconsistent with the lessons of the quality movement—hinders learning and even discovering mistakes...

Some principles of transformation to support the change process from a 'Victim Mindset' to a 'Being Responsible Mindset' are.......

Accepting personal responsibility
So much has already been written about this subject.

Yet I continue to be amazed at how many people still think that responsibility = blame.
One might even be tempted to wonder if maligning responsibility this way is not another tactic to make people think that being responsible is a bad thing and to be avoided at all costs, thus perpetuating the victim consciousness that keeps people powerless....

Responsibility refers to....
 * A structure of interpretation by which I choose to stand 100 percent as the cause of what happens in my life
 — no exceptions
 — including my thoughts, feelings, actions, interpretations and resulting events.
* Authorship.
It is to be aware of creating one’s self, one’s destiny, life predicaments and outcomes and, if such be the case, one’s own suffering.
* It is not the truth, like a fact.
It is a context from which one chooses to live. It starts with the willingness to come from a point of view that you are the cause of your own actions, no one can make you do anything.
You are the cause of what you have and what you are.

But you might wonder.....:
Why choose to be 100 percent responsible?
What’s the point?
Why take on such a burden?
Isn’t that heaping a lot of weight on one’s shoulders?
Isn’t it a set up for failure?

In a transformed understanding of responsibility we learn that it is not burden, fault, praise, blame, credit, shame or guilt.
In responsibility, there is no evaluation of good or bad, right or wrong.
There is simply what happens and the willingness to hold yourself accountable for how you respond.
(Ellis has been my 'chosen mentor' on this for many years, in coining it as 'Rational vs Irrational' thoughts/actions..)
Accepting personal responsibility is to claim yourself as the uncontested author of your life.
Even though much of what happens in life is beyond our ability to control, what we do have is the ability to choose how we’ll respond to what happens.
So if you want to have a say about who you are and what your life is for, responsibility is a requirement. It is the foundational principle of transformation. Without it, all the rest are null and void.

Why choose to be 100% responsible?
Because it is the key to accessing your personal power, freedom, creativity, aliveness and passion.

You can’t be kind of, or somewhat responsible.
You either are or you’re not.
No one else can make you be responsible, nor can you impose it on another.
Responsibility is a gift you can only give to yourself, like a blessing.

All of us have had things happen to us in ways that had us feel, either for a moment or perhaps for a lifetime, that we were a victim in that circumstance.
Life isn’t always fair.
Victim events DO happen......
Airplanes crash, earthquakes happen, people rob, steal, cheat and take advantage of others well-intentions.
No one gets through life without many moments of feeling like what just happened shouldn’t have happened. Feeling like what just happened wasn’t your fault, you didn’t deserve it, you weren’t to blame.

We all have stories and battle scars from the victim wars we’ve waged, and we’ve gathered a lot of evidence to be right about our stories.
We enlist our friends in giving sympathy or extra attention because of what happened to us.
We use our victim stories as excuses for (fill in the blank…) not getting on with life, not taking risks, not being in a relationship, not trusting, not loving ourselves, etc.

At the factual level, all that may be true.
But in between what happens to us and the stories we tell ourselves about it there is a tiny gap.
Maybe it’s only a millisecond.
In that gap lies the possibility that we can consciously choose our response.
And in that choice lies all the power and freedom human beings could possibly want.

Just ask Nelson Mandela or Viktor Frankl, both of whom suffered years of imprisonment and physical and psychological abuse at the hands of 'their masters'.
Frankl was in a Nazi concentration camp during WWII, Mandela imprisoned for 26+ years in South Africa.
Yet upon release, each spoke about how the power of choice helped them not only survive what had happened, but emerge from their experience, not angry and embittered or victimized, but empowered to make a difference by helping others to see within themselves the source of their own true power.

Not everything is great about being responsible; it is, for instance, hard work and can feel burdensome.

Feeling responsible also has many positive emotions and advantages associated with it, including feeling more powerful and more connected.
The point  is not to have people necessarily come to believe one way of thinking is better than another.
The objective is to have people recognize that each of us has a choice—or actually a series of choices—we make each day about how we approach the world and the problems and opportunities it presents to us.
We can be victimized or responsible.

In a similar fashion, we can choose how we view opponents and rivals and we can choose what assumptions we make and hold about people and organizations and their capabilities and potential...
Each choice has consequences—for how we feel and, more important, for what we do, the decisions we make, and how we act in the situations we confront.
This isn't to suggest that we should always make the best of bad situations--there are times in life when we truly are victims of circumstance, and trying to hold ourselves responsible is counterproductive.

But in almost all 'professional' situations we can choose to adopt a responsible mindset or a victim mindset--and that choice will have a significant effect on our ability to contribute to a desirable outcome.
The responsibility to create a world that embodies the principles of transformation is ours.
If we accept that responsibility as a gift and a blessing instead of a burden, we can be empowered to move freely in the direction of the promise of this time.
It is choice we make for ourselves to live in this way, or not.
The mantle is there to be picked up.
The choice to do so or not lies within each of us.
For if the  'Great Awakening' is to occur, it will be a team sport.
And it begins in taking responsibility for inviting yourself to be on the team.
Are you in?

"Therefore comfort one another with these words"
MARANATHA and SHALOM!

 1 Thessalonians 4:18
