Did you not, (like me) sometimes 'wished'.......that the Lord Jesus Christ would "enlighten our understanding" & would Guide us to "see things more clearly"...?
This is nevertheless the 'Special' work of the Holy Ghost, to give to us a 'new' spiritual vision and a 'way'-of-apprehension..............
That will enable the 'human soul' to perceive 'divine' things and realities.....not necessary vividly but at least with 'better /improved' understanding......( that does not necessarily always implicate a 'higher level of confusion' i.e. ....." The more I've found out, -the more I know how little I knew...")
Perhaps the first effect of this is that the things of God become intensely 'real', and 'stand out' with vividness & distinctness, -similar to figures cut in 3D / relief on a moving painting attach to a wall.........
The 'Person of Christ', .......
.......the Light of His Countenance,
........the distinct Sweetness of His Spirit,
........the "Peace that passeth all understanding",
....... the Joy of the Lord, the heavenly world........,
-All of them become to the 'human soul ' , -more actual and intensely vivid than the things we see with our outward eyes, ...........
or touch with our human hands.....;
or touch with our human hands.....;
...."you just know "it" in your 'knower.'.."
We can then say of Christ (like the Apostle):
"That which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the Word of Life."
The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
