Obedience - It IS more than only .....Listen, Understanding & then doing...!

In many ways, the attitude of obedience is much more vital than the act...., -because if the attitude is right, the act will naturally follow...!

A four-year-old girl was playing with her toys.
Her mother, who was folding laundry across the room, noticed that the girl's shirt was dirty and needed to be changed.
She consequently told her to take it off and bring it to her so that she could wash it.
After telling her twice with no response, her mother finally gave her the full three-name call, did you hear me?" The girl answered,
"Yes, Mama. My ears did, but my legs didn't."

Obedience....."to listen well."
Listening intently.
At the heart of obedience in the Bible is relationship.
Obedience is based on the deepest level of communication where the other person is heard and understood.
For Christians, this means that obedience cannot be reduced to a simple list of do's and don'ts, but is tantamount to an act of worship.
We look so closely at God and listen so closely for His voice that we act in ways that show we are engaged in conversation and communion with God.

Consideration......
Sometimes we don't hear God's directions because we're simply too busy
we're not listening with our whole being
Understanding the heart of another.
When looked at that way, how obedient are you in hearing God's voice?
What is God calling you to do today?
Are you ready to listen with your legs as well as your ears?
Be Ready to....
- be still....
- listen to God
- have a 'willingness' to know what He wants  YOU to do......?

When God works in us, ..........the will, being changed and sweetly breathed up by the Spirit of God, desires and acts, not from compulsion, but responsively.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."
Isaiah 30:21

Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.
Psalm 119:34

Shalom
