Being fACE-to-fACE..... Recommended & much PREFERed !

It is easy to sent off an e-mail or SMS to someone in this age of electronic communication because of its expediency.

In business : Its called.... being Efficient!
However, there are times when nothing but a face-to-face meeting is the appropriate means of communication.
Verbal skills are a very small portion of communication. Body language, voice tone, and our expressions make up the majority of our overall communication. This CANNOT be seen through a letter or electronic medium....!

I know that being face to face with those which I care for, is important..
And for me, it meant some major trouble to get from one place to another.
It wasn't as simple as getting into a car or hopping onto an airplane.
My desire and determination to visit and talk face to face reinforces the importance of one-on-one personal communication.

I once had to confront a person about some important issues we were having in a matter of mutual concern. The person lived in another Province. The 'interaction' had stalled to some degree. I could have attempted (& initially tried to), resolve the issues over the e-mail, SMS & phone. But I realized the serious nature of the issues required a face-to-face meeting. I drove four hours to the other person's location and met, -face to face.
It meant all the difference.
It demonstrated also I was serious enough about re-solving the issues to take a day to address the concerns.
It also showed I valued 'the person' and conveyed that the person was worth the effort.
This resulted in both -giving greater emphasis to the issue

Next time a situation arises that requires more focused communication, I will definitely without any hesitancy carefully consider whether the situation requires a personal visit, right from the start...!
Most probably it just might be be the key to resolving issues that otherwise might end in a stalemate.

Nevertheless some wonderful new & exciting technology, -there are NO replacement for some 'proven' old tricks of the trade, one of which is: "Personal encounter using ALL 6 of God-given Senses...... !"
...as simple as that !
