A little boy had been admitted to the hospital.
When his parents briefly left him in the room alone for the first time, his nurse, who knew that he was alone, called his name over the intercom to ask him how he was doing.
This was long before the wireless age, and electronic gadgetry was new to him.
The wide-eyed child sat up in his bed and responded,
"Is that You, Lord?!"
Consideration....
Even when we feel all alone and afraid, we can know that God is speaking to us, wanting to know how we're doing, sometimes in mysterious ways.
All that's required is the simple belief that God is always near and desires to speak to our hearts.
God walks with us.
He takes us in His arms or simply sits with us in silent strength until we cannot avoid the awesome recognition that yes, even now.....,
He is here.
Contemplation.... Lord, thank You for Your nearness.
Thank You for hearing my prayers.
Give me an open heart to hear You and see Your hand in my life.
