'This is the kind of love I want in my life........'

A 'Story about Life' .....that 's unpretentious, uncomplicated & as God intended to be......
A Life......... I truly long for ......
.....of 'Being Together' at God's Will....& as per His' Instruction

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived at the clinic to have stitches removed from his thumb......
He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.
His vital signs were taken and he has taken a seat,
 - me, -knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him.
The nurse saw him looking at his watch and
decided, since since she was not busy with another patient, to evaluate his wound......
On exam, it was well healed, so after she has talked to one of the
doctors, she got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, the nurse asked him if he
had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.........

The gentleman said: 'No, -he
needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast
with his wife....'
The nurse inquired as to his wife's health........

He said that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease......

As they talked, he was asked if his wife would be
upset if he was a bit late..........?

He replied that she no longer knew
who he was, that she had 'not recognized him' in
more than three years now......

Surprised, ...he was asked:  ........'And you still go every morning, even though she
doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he said......
.....'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.......

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
-they just make
the best of everything they have.

'Life isn't about
how to survive the storm, -But how to dance in the rain.'
We are all getting Older .......
.....Tomorrow may be our turn.

Who-Else-Just-Fell-For-These-Love-Birds-Of-63-Years .... ?

Beautiful, thank you for that reminder. One can lose everything and replace it, except the people you love. Even when you lose those people (through illness, death, misunderstanding, distance) your love for them sustains you through the storms of life. Viktor Frankl, in the concentration camp, survived by having "conversations" with his wife, even though he did not know if she was dead or alive at the time. His love for her pulled him through his harrowing experience. Nobody can imprison the mind...
