Down through the centuries in times of trouble and trial God has brought courage to the hearts of those who love Him....
It has for sure given me recently this Assurance ..!
The Bible is filled with assurances of God's help and comfort in every kind of trouble which might cause fears to arise in the 'normal' human heart.
Are you 'able' to look ahead (today) with promise, hope, and joy...(despite your actual circumstances) ?
Peter and John were with Jesus shortly before His return to His Father's right side.
In a 'poignant conversation' Jesus foretold Peter's violent death as a martyr and John's long life. (See John 21:18-24.)
All the other apostles died at the hands of those who persecuted the Christian faith, but John died of old age as an exile on the island of Patmos.
(It was there that he received a vision that came directly from God, which is known as the Book of Revelation, the final entry in the New Testament.)
This is not just a book of prophecy, but a hard look at how believers—now and then—live in the present......... TODAY!
In John's preface he provides a word of wisdom all of us of faith are wise to heed:
"Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near" (1:3).
We are reminded that the "Day" is near, that true strength in times of judgment and difficulty is found in a ........Faithful reading of God's Word......!

- Choose to make reading Scripture a priority in your Life, ...from Today onwards..!
