'Good' Friday...........22 April 2011

Today & Sunday, -we celebrate Easter.  To the world, it is just another holiday, but to those who know Jesus Christ, it is the most significant event of the year and in history...! The Disciples thought it was all over........  They had followed him........ Faithfully.  They had given up everything and devoted their lives to His cause.  They were expecting a revolution, What they got was a cross......! ........the end of their dream.  It didn't matter who would be first and who would be last in the Kingdom now....... Even Peter, the most passionate of Jesus'

followers, the one who had walked on water, denied that he ever knew Jesus....!  How different the result oppose to their 'wants'. Jesus was able to endure the cross because of the 'JOY' set before Him.  (see Hebrews)  He knew that on the 'other side' of that excruciating pain and humiliation, death would be defeated... Forever ! The Kingdom of God would 'then' break through.  It wouldn't look like an earthly kingdom.  It would be far, far better, by a long stretch On 'that' Friday, the disciples didn't see what Jesus saw.  They didn't know that Sunday was coming.  What a glorious surprise awaited them... On this Good Friday.........,  .......remember the hope and expectations I /you have, -knowing that it may only be Friday, but  ........'Sunday' is coming....!  I can't wait ! God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we .......might become the righteousness of God.        2 Corinthians 5:21  Shalom !
